Only three 343rd aircraft with the name SNOW WHITE have been observed; this
is perhaps the 3rd SNOW WHITE but it is definitely the final one of
the war. Was flying ca. 1945 but its S/N is
unknown. It was however a contemporary of S/N 42-78600 (DOPEY / KATHRYN ANNE) which landed in Switzerland on 8 Apr 45 as evidenced by its natural metal
finish and the yellow color and style of the name lettering which the final
generation of SNOW WHITE aircraft carried. It carries the yellow trim
color of the 343rd BS on the prop spinners. Also note that the first two
343rd SNOW WHITE B-24Ds (41-11913 & 42-40364) were named SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS.

This was painted during WWII on an Italian airfield by my Father, Sgt.
Gerald Viola (Aircraft Electrician). His work is distinguishable because it
looks exactly like the subject he is painting. Another way to tell his work is
the use of block letters. He painted BASHFUL (42-78443), DOC (S/N ?), DOPEY
/ KATHRYN ANNE (42-78600), GRUMPY (42-51586), HAPPY
(S/N ?), SLEEPY (S/N ?), SNEEZY (42-51161), and SNOW WHITE (42-51008).
