Originally one of the supplementary aircraft received by 445th
BG in May 44 to increase squadron strength to 18 planes. It was first assigned
to 702nd BS (WV C). Hitherto 702nd BS had used only
letters from N thru Z but with the arrival of additional aircraft letters from A
thru E (and later others) were used with a bar below the letter to distinguish
them from planes with the same letters in 703rd BS. Transferred to 701st BS (MK
D+) between 20 Jul & 15 Aug 44.
Involved in mid-air collision with 703rd BS, THUMPER 42-95291
(RN L). Its nose turret was damaged but the aircraft landed at Leiston where it
was repaired 10 - 25 Sep 44.
