Flew 100 missions before crashing on 4 Apr 45 at Raveningham, Norfolk on return from a mission to bomb Wesendorf airfield. According to Harold Jansen in his History of 446th BG, the hydraulic system was out, the left main landing gear could not be extended and the engines were cutting out when the crew bailed out safely 9 miles from their
Bungay/Flixton base.
