"Training Bomber"
Info Contributor - Grove C. Johnson
(Pilot)
I slowed the big bird to minimum speed, then asked for flaps.
The Co-Pilot evidently didn't hear, for he didn't respond. About fifty feet above the ground, the airplane stopped flying and assumed the angle of a rock. It hit on its main gear and tail. A quick inspection at the end of the runway revealed the rear section of the airplane so wrinkled that it resembled a prune.
Since she had no name, the commander permitted me to name her, which I did - the
RELUCTANT DRAGON. She had so precariously dragged her tail on the ground.

Used for training before departure for England. Those large
"Last Three Digits" of the serial number on the nose,
invariably identify a plane as a training aircraft, in the U.S.A.
