A participant in the USAAF aviation exhibition held
in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower (8 Mar 45). Re-Painted on Starboard (Right)
Side as "WITCHCRAFT II" (for the exhibition) as a "Tribute" to
467th's WITCHCRAFT (42-52534), but retained its 453rd BG codes &
formation markings. Original 453rd BG cadre with RCLs (Q+ / Q- /
Q), it was very badly damaged 20 Apr 44 when the
tail gunner was killed and the whole tail assembly had to be changed. Last
traced in 453rd BG on a practice mission 11 Nov 44 by which time it was war
weary.
