Used in training at Pueblo AFB in Colorado. I believe it
was attached to the 2nd Air Force, 16th Wing, 471st Bomb Group,
806th Bomb Squadron. The crew went on to serve with the 7th Air
Force, 30th Bomb Group, 27th Bomb Squadron on Kwajalein. The plane the crew was on when lost was
The LEMON (42-72993).
My Uncle, Lyndon V. Collins (Navigator, standing 2nd from
right), was reported MIA over Truk 5 May 44.
