Out of Manduria, Italy. Shot down 7 Oct 44 over Austria. Crew to
Stalag Luft 3, then Magdeburg for remainder of war.
Research Team Comments: The "PAOLI LOCAL" is the rail line that parallels US 30, Lancaster Avenue running west out of Philadelphia, and given the exclusive neighbors, it passes through their colloquialism "The Main Line". Among these are: Bala, Ardmore, Wayne, Rosemount, Bryn Mawr, Villanova, St. Davids, and Paoli. During WW II it was part of the "Pennsylvania Rail Road" (PRR), thus the Emblem.
