Renamed from PLUCKY LUCKY after Transfer from 489th BG
Contributor - Georges "Gino" Künzle
My impression is that the entire original & damaged OD rear fuselage (25 Feb 45)
was replaced by a one left over from a NMF ship, extending up to fuselage
station 5.0 and thus including the rear bomb bay; the donor aircraft should have
previously belonged to the 448th BG, as the black code letters seem to read CT,
the 712th BS code, until the 448th dispensed with squadron codes in the autumn
of 1944. Upon completion, the entire rear fuselage was repainted in OD to match
the rest of the aircraft's overall finish with its relevant 445th BG markings
added.

of the "U" of the word PLUCKY.
