Port (Left) Side
Contributor - David Keck
Shown with the Ground Crew. Dewayne Simmonds is kneeling on
the right. The other ground crew men identification is uncertain, however, two
of the men are most likely O'Conner and Scholz. They had painted their names on
the plane which can be seen on the far right in the photograph on the plane.
My Grandfather, Retired CM/Sgt. Harlyn Glen Turner, was the Ball Turret Gunner aboard the first crew to fly
LITTLE ROLLO which was originally named after her first pilot - 1/Lt. Howard
Roeller. Flew 123 combat missions in the European theatre, and after the war, flew back home to the U.S.
