Renamed to "MADAME QUEEN" - Nose Art
Inspiration - ALBERTO VARGAS"TEMPTATION"
Character from "Little
Lulu Comics" (Creator -
Warren Kremer)
Info Contributor - Theodore J. Williams
When the 380th was to go to the Philippines in February 1945, our airfield on Mindoro was not finished, so we had to wait a month until early March. To keep the troops occupied, the wheels decided to change our livery from the quartered fin and rudder to a circus theme
emphasizing our nickname as the "Flying Circus". They also decided to paint the Squadron insignias on the port side and have the nose art
uniformly on the starboard. The troops took this opportunity plus the large supply of paint to spruce up the nose art and also rename some of the planes.
