Crashed 4 Sep 43 (Pilot 1Lt John E. Kraybill) while
attempting to land at Craw Field, Port Lyautey, French Morocco, having
jettisoned the depth charges into the Atlantic Ocean after an engine erupted in
flames after take-off when the plane was hardly airborne. More details of the
incident can be found on pages 116 and 117 of "Stalking the U-Boat" by Max Schoenfeld.
