03-3 | ROBERT W. GOBLE |
Port (Left) Side - Lost 14 Oct 44, HUN - MACR 9605 Pg1 / Pg2 - Pilot John H. Robson, Jr.
Contributor - Jim Goble
Shown with my Father, Robert W. Goble (Co-Pilot), standing middle. This is the
plane they flew over to Italy, when it was new.
On their first mission, the bombs would not release from their hangers! Since
they couldn't risk landing with a full bomb load, they flew over the ocean, so
that the crew could pry them off into the water. That is how DRY RUN got her
name.
