TRANQUILINO DELROSARIO ANCHETA |
Contributor - Steffi Ward
Shown with my Dad, Tranquilino delRosario Ancheta, (Standing 2nd from
left). He is 90 years old and currently in the V.A. Hospital, here in
Seattle, WA. Due to negligence, he's very ill - no thanks to my
mother! She wouldn't let me take this picture to have a
copy produced, and she wouldn't let me borrow it so that I could
scan it. I finally "stole it" off her wall last night! His patches, uniform and an assortment of things (including
his firearm and 2 boxes of bullets that are dated, in the
1940's), a sword (I don't know what the significance of what the
sword is, he told me once and I can't remember the story behind
it - the sword does have military insignia on it), and a lot of
other things, are hiding in his room. I saw some patches and
several medals while I was there today (painting his bedroom). I
wish I could obtain those right now and take some photographs of
them, but my mother won't let me near those things. My dad is very proud of his
war experience and tells the story constantly.
