BUCKET OF BOLTS | CHANGE O LUCK | "A72-9" WHITE CARGO
Info Contributor - Robert Livingstone
The aircraft was a rogue used for parts in the early days of the 90th in Australia. When they moved out of Iron Range, BUCKET
OF BOLTS was made airworthy, renamed to CHANGE O LUCK in the hopes that this would influence its flight characteristics & flown to Port Moresby.
It was no better, flew only a minimum of missions and was stripped of armament and paint (thus WHITE CARGO) for use as a Fat Cat.
For some unexplained reason, this was one of the aircraft selected by the RAAF where it became A72-9.
It was still a rogue & its final use was to carry parts for 24 Squadron B-24s when they moved north from Australia. After this it was returned to Darwin and scrapped.
