Original crew photo 1 Jan 45, after having completed their 20th mission. Mission
on 24 Dec 44, in formation with the 819th Bombardment Squadron, 30th Bomb Group to bomb Iwo
Jima. After the bombing run our plane alone stayed behind and descended to about 500 feet with a naval spotting office aboard to spot for the heavy cruiser, Pensacola, as it shelled the island defenses. This mission was reported in the
16 Jan 45 issue of BRIEF magazine on pages 6 and 7.
