Late Tail Markings
Info Contributor - James A. Leddy
Caption Reads: "With parachutes billowing behind it, a Consolidated B-24 Liberator piloted by Capt. Bill R. Adams of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, comes to a stop on its home runway after bombing the Manfred Weiss motor works in Budapest. The hydraulic system was shot out over the target rendering brakes and flaps inoperative, so the parachutes were pressed into service to slow the landing roll."
