Flew on missions from Apr thru Sep 44 when it was declared war weary and
eventually salvaged. The salvage was recorded by BAD 3 on 29 May 45.
According to Lt. Leonard V. Thornton, it was un-named when he and his crew flew
it on 6, 7 and 27 May 44. It would appear, therefore, that the name and nose art
were added later. There cannot be any truth in the report that it flew on 448
BG's 11 Feb 45 mission.
