Originally in 732nd BS with radio call letter K.
Named BORSUK'S BITCH after transfer from 732nd to 735th Sqn (where the Crew
Chief was M/Sgt. Matthew Borsuk) between 20 Feb & 31 Mar 44.
Lost 25 Apr 44 - said to have been hit by flak over Paris and to have gone on to
bomb the target but, according to the pilot, whose recollection of the mission
is recorded on page 27 of "Strangers in a Strange Land", the circumstances were
different. The aircraft landed at Dübendorf, Zürich canton, SWITZERLAND. (The
target was in Mannheim)
Subsequently flown bearing Swiss Air Force markings, the first flight taking
place on 28 Apr 44.
Flown back to BAD 1, Burtonwood, Lancashire, on 8 Oct 45.
