Originally in 754th (Z5 A) but was transferred to 755th (J3 J) between 14 Oct
& 5 Nov 44. A month later, between 6 Nov & 11 Dec 44, it was transferred
again, this time to 753rd (J4 Y). Whilst 458th BG's original crews did complete their training at Tonopah,
Nevada, they picked up their combat aircraft to fly to the UK at Hamilton Field,
California. However, ARISE MY LOVE AND COME WITH ME was a replacement aircraft
that 458th BG received some four or five months after the Group arrived at
Horsham St. Faith (now Norwich Airport). It is unlikely that it was ever at
Tonopah and its assignment to 458th BG would not have been decided until after
it arrived in the UK. Similarly, unless the crew depicted is an original crew,
they might not have trained at Tonopah. Arrived at Altus, OK 29 Oct 45 for
storage and subsequent salvage.
