After leaving 486th BG in July 1944, was in storage
at a depot and was not received by 492nd BG at Harrington until between 7 & 23
Dec 44. Never flew in 492nd BG as a Carpetbagger. It remained a bomber (even
after being painted black) and flew on all ten of the Group's special bombing
missions. Also, by the time it was flown back to ZI in Jul 45, it had been
transferred to 856th Squadron and its RCL had been changed from H to R.
