Info Contributor - John B. Ryan
This was the first "ALL MEAT NO POTATOES".
This plane only flew one or two missions and my Father, James J. Ryan (Co-Pilot), said it was not a good plane. They
asked for, and received, another one which they named "ALL MEAT-NO POTATOES"
(42-78318).
Research Team Comments: Info Contributor's father, who was Co-Pilot on this crew, felt that this Ford manufactured B-24H (assembled at the Douglas Tulsa plant) had poor flight characteristics and welcomed the newer, natural metal, NAA B-24G series replacement aircraft (see "ALL MEAT-NO POTATOES"). The extra window in the nose was a common modification in the MTO, but is not indicative of any one B-24 series or manufacturer.
