Flew a recon mission over Hiroshima 25 Aug 45. During another weather recon over Japan 30 Aug 45, Pilot Lt. Lawrence J. Alexandre was the first, and probably the only, to land a 22nd Bomb Group B-24 in Japan. Reporting a loss of his flight instruments while circling over Tokyo, Alexandre landed at Atsugi Airdrome from where he took off on the following morning.
