Crashed in a field at Fressingfield, adjoining
Metfield, Suffolk (not Norfolk) on 8 Mar 44 and was salvaged on 10 & 11 Mar 44.
The date November 3, 1944 (11/3/1944) is most likely a misinterpretation of the
British day/month/year date 11 March, 1944, when salvage operations were
completed. If the photo was taken in November, the tail would have high
visibility Group identification markings. Furthermore, the absence of the
squadron code RN on the fuselage points to an early March photo at the latest.
