Roger Freeman mentions (pg 500) of
"Mighty
Eighth: War Diary" that B-24 "283" was forced to turn back
after being dispatched 29 Apr 45 to obtain radarscope photographs of Kiel harbor.
The radar was found not to be functioning properly.
