Abandoned (ostensibly WW with an unserviceable engine) at Finschaffen (New Guinea). The officer in charge of the field wanted it repaired "under the counter" to be used as a fat cat &
organized the civilian Consairway organization to help the secrecy required.
A Consairway engineer repaired the engine & the aircraft was flown to Consairway at Biak where they stripped it of equipment & armament (and paint) & built secret compartments to hide booze.

MACR 7083 is in ERROR! 42-110142 was never in the 492nd BG.
The #142 lost by the 492nd on 20 Jun 44 was 44-40142, 5Z:K, named SKNAPPY.
Possible confusion with 42-110152 or 42-110143 which were lost by the same Group on the same mission.
